Artists Mourn Malawi’s Premier DJ Kenny Klips

Tributes are pouring in for fallen radio personality and Disk Jockey Kenny Wako popularly known as Kenny Klips who died on Thursday morning at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre after battling with liver problem.

Reacting to the news, a poet Kenneth Khondiwa, who is also a presenter at Ndirande FM, described Klips’s death as a big blow to the media fraternity in the country.

“This is a big blow to the media industry in Malawi; we have lost a person who inspired a lot of young stars in the media.

Personally, l have lost a person who introduced me to the media,” said Khondiwa

Posting on his Facebook page, gospel hip-hop artist Duncan Zgambo also known as Gwamba described Klips as a legend and pioneer of hip-hop music in the country.

Musician and radio personality Code Sangala  said  DJ Klips was one of the best Hip-Hop Djs in the country.

DJ klips has travelled around Africa performing at various fuctions and until his death was working at Times Group.

The veteran producer Klips will be laid to rest on Friday at Chimpikizo Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chanthunya in Balaka district.
